Theme: Celebrating 125 years of Ferry Beach! Topic: A Historical Look at the Glory Days of Saco Bay Ever wonder about the history of the region from a long time ago? What did Saco Bay's Coastal Communities look like? This is your chance to find out!! On January 29th, Anatole Brown, Archive and Special Collections Manager of the Dyer Library and longtime Museum Educator at the Saco Museum will share all about the early days of Saco Bay's coastal communities, including Ferry Beach, Camp Ellis, Ocean Park and Old Orchard Beach! During this special dinner- you'll have a chance to see many never-before-seen archival photos of the early worship campgrounds, beachside neighborhoods and old houses, as well as the dazzling Victorian resorts and the ever-fascinating Dummy Train! We will also explore the history of the region and how these beachside communities developed and why they are so different? Take this trip down memory lane with us as we explore the enriching history of Saco, Maine and the beauty of these coastal towns back in the day.
